Since I started working this summer, I’ve been donating 5% of my paychecks to non-profit organizations that are helpful to the rest of humanity. The first organization that I donated to was the FSF or Free Software Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing and nurturing free and open source software. I’ve also donated to the Internet Archive, a non-profit internet library1, and Doctors Without Borders2, an organization dedicated to providing aid to those who are otherwise unable to receive it.
Might I recommend to those oh-so-few people who are reading this to make some donations too?

Its great that you are supporting causes that you believe in. I’m sure that 5% is better spent supporting these organizations than it could be for spending cash. I think more people should do this.
The Wayback Machine might prove to be useful as a last-resort recovery method for people who lose their blogs or sites.
